Bloggin' It Blamires Style: FAMILY REUNION, ANYONE???

I spent six hours on a trip to Adam-Ondi-Ahman yesterday and it was a blast! It is so beautiful there. Also on the way to there we could go by Haun's Mill and Far West. Then there is also Liberty and Independence for those of you who haven't been to those recently. Independence finished a renovation a year ago and is totally different from what everyone has seen, except April. There is so much else to do up here that would keep people occupied for at least, a few days!! Any takers?

Dungeon Of Dread by Rose Estes - You are caric a brve knight in a whole world where dragons roam! can you solve the mystery of the dungeon of dread.
"In My Father's House" by Bodie and Brock Thoene - historical fiction about four soldiers returning home from WWI and readjusting to life in America. Possibly one of my new all-time favorites. It inspires me to become a better person. -Erin
"PepperTide" by Jack Weyland - a very neat story about a boy growing up. I especially like the chapters where he first meets his wife - very, very funny. -April
"The Icing on the Cake" by Elodia Strain - cute little book for single LDS girls. And maybe non-single LDS girls. -Ami
Short stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald--my favorite so far is "Offshore Pirate" -Derek
The Count of Monte Cristo -- such an intricate plot! Never a dull moment - so much better than the movie! - April
Peace Like A River by Leif Enger--one of the most beautifully written stories I've ever read. -Derek
Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach one of Dad's favorites
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane - by Kate DiCamillo

Movie Reviews

New In Town - a very cute movie with morals (we don't see enough of those anymore). There is a little language and one slightly questionable scene, but a lot of good, clean humor as well. -- April
The Express -- This is a great movie. A lot like Remember the Titans in how moving it is. It reminds us how our country used to be and where we never want to return to. I wish that all could see it, but there is a more language than necessary. That's how they ruin a lot of movies nowadays. - Andrew
Kit Kittredge -- great casting, fun story, and completely family friendly! Definitely worth seeing - I might even buy it. --April
Get Smart---Well, Hollywood does it again. Takes a fun TV program and turns it into stupid movie. Be smart and don't waste your money and time. Could easily be fun and funny. Too much trash talk and "crudity" to be enjoyable. Casting good, though.--Mom
Hancock - Not so much. Lots of language and a weird, disjoint plotline. Good idea... but poorly executed. :o) - Ami
Baby Mama -- Very cute story line with lots of humor. Slight crude humor, but not nearly as much as I was prepared for..?? Brenda would like it!! --Ami
Wall-E -- really cute and fun! -- April
The Golden Compass--Not that great of a movie, but it was your classic good vs. evil. This movie, no matter how hard I tried to read into it, had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with abandoning religion and children on a quest to kill God. Brenda
Cyanara, Naum Chomsky--Incensed by the famed writer, linguist, and philosopher's wholesale rejection of metaphor a washed up gun-for-hire-turned-poetic transcendentalist sets out to wax the unfortunate icon. Along the way, he does battle with various blade-weilding ninjas, cannibal tribes, and swashbuckling game show hosts. There's also a really fun scene with a fire-breathing llama and a box of jelly donuts and a heart-warming moment involving a family of Irish immigrant midgets. Stars Alan Alda and that one guy from the movie about the people from the country where they make HAM radios (or maybe it was just hams). Anyway, this movie really delivers. (But good luck getting your hands on a copy.)
Kung Fu Panda -- A great fun movie!! You will roll with laughter throughout the movie. It's great for the kids to enjoy, you should too! Definitely one for the library. -- Andrew
