"That is the question. Whether 'tis nobler ..." Ah, well. Today was definitely today---filled with some work, some pool, some more work, some more pool, until your dad came home. The front entrance is fresh and clean with new paint and carpet. (Chris scraped off the old carpet yesterday.) The porch is washed as are the window on the door and the livingroom window, and the hedge is trimmed all around the house, for all of which I missed my helpers. The cat misses them, too. While painting this morning I was startled by very loud crashes of thunder without the normal indication of storms in the area. No dark, lowering clouds and the sun was bright with dark shady shadows under the trees. Then it poured rain still without storm clouds in sight! Finally the clouds came and the rain stopped! Craziness. So, moving on we come to:
"Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow..." What are all of you doing? We are doing the same ole thing as in people, food, games, fireworks in and around forecasted rain. I have the US flag above the mantel and the family flag below it. So far it's just the Halls besides our family. Ami says she is hanging out with her married friends and their babies and going to Peterson's on Sunday for dinner with all of them including Andy and Matt and their families. Brenda has the dullest ever July Fourth planned (Brenda's words yesterday.) with Matt probably working and them at home. Might be fireworks at the church behind them. Whatever you do for the day, remember to think about the great things we have here and why we have them. Someone payed a very dear price. Look up 1776 in American history and refresh your memories about what the circumstances were for those involved. There was no "happily everafter" for these men and their families. Then be grateful. Love you all very much.
